Dr. Rhoden spoke about the importance of sharing from your
heart and life experience.
The Elders, Pastors J Johnston and Jonathan Cashman, as
well as Debbie Carey and Kari Van Cleave prayed for the needs of the church.
The pastors and Kari Van Cleave shared updates from their
ministry as follows:
J Johnston:
> Dr. Bob and J are working with a
lay leader to possibly plan a men’s event later in the summer.
Jonathan Cashman:
> There will be a Worship Team
meeting at the end of the month to share vision and purpose for the ministry
Kari Van Cleave:
> The annual Make ‘m Smile event will
be at Lake Eola on June 1st.
> This year’s VBS will be held
nightly from June 26th-28th.
Debbie
Carey:
> The weekly tithes and offerings
were $ 21,236.
> Attendance in the main service
was 558 and 669 in total.
Wray Petry
made a motion to accept the minutes of the 29 April 2013 meeting which was seconded
by Eddie Haralson and passed unanimously.
Jim Norman
made a motion to accept the minutes of the 6 May 2013 meeting which was seconded
by Wray Petry and passed unanimously.
Dr. Rhoden
shared encouraging observations from his first two weeks at Calvary.
Due to the
Memorial Day holiday, the Elders will not be meeting on May 27th.
With no
further discussion, the meeting ended at 6:30PM.
