Elder Minutes For 20 February 2012

PRESENT: Doug Joseph, Jim Norman, Jack Norman, Wray Petry, George Cope, Dave Tinker, George Joseph, Frank St. John

Praise report: The offering was over $59k this week!  

Pastors Jack Cain and J Johnston joined the Elders to pray for the needs of the church.

Pastor Cope listed some prayer needs and reiterated several testimonies that will be shared in the coming weeks.

The pastors left at 4:55PM.

Jack Norman made a motion to approve the 6 February 2012 Minutes which was seconded by David Tinker and unanimously approved by the remainder of the Elders.  

It was decided that the Annual Church Business Meeting will be held on Sunday, March 25^th.

Suggestions from the Finance Council were discussed.  

The pastoral staff is meeting for the entire day tomorrow to discuss Calvary’s mission, vision, and values.

The list of candidates for membership was announced and prayed over.  Frank St. John made a motion to approve these members, which was seconded by George Joseph and unanimously approved by the remainder of the Elders.

An update was given concerning the Haitian and Russian churches that are meeting on a weekly basis at Calvary.  

Pastor Cope shared about an opportunity to speak at a District Council Meeting in India.  

The Elders discussed the worship at Calvary over the past three months.

Elder Minutes For 6 February 2012

PRESENT: Doug Joseph, Jim Norman, Jack Norman, Wray Petry, George Joseph,

ABSENT: Frank St. John, George Cope, Dave Tinker

Debbie Carey shared the following information:

    >  Attendance was 734 in the Main Sanctuary

    >  Offering was $42,631 (not including payroll tithes)

Pastors Steve Sienkiewicz and Jack Cain joined the Elders to pray for the needs of the church.

The pastors left at 4:55PM.

At 5:00PM Jonathan Cashman and Patrick Sweet joined the Elders to discuss plans for the Easter musical, “Savior.”

Jim Norman made a motion to approve the minutes of the January 31, 2012 meeting which was seconded by Wray Petry and unanimously approved by the remainder of the Elders.  

The Bay Revival was discussed along with the desire to have more substantial altar calls.

With no further items, the meeting was adjourned at 6:05PM.

Elder Minutes For 30 January 2012

PRESENT: Doug Joseph, George Cope, Dave Tinker, Jim Norman, Jack Norman, Wray Petry, George Joseph,

ABSENT: Frank St. John

Pastor Cope shared a brief word from the book of Amos.

Pastor Rick Moore, Debbie Carey, and Pastor Steve Sienkiewicz joined the Elders to pray for the needs of the church.

The pastors exited, and Debbie Carey stayed to give the Administrator’s report:

    >  Attendance was 812 in the Main Sanctuary

    >  Offering was $33,600

    >  We have had several applications for the I.T/Communications position.

The elders discussed the Bay Revival and how God moved in the services.

Jim Norman made a motion to approve the minutes for 23 January 2012, which was seconded by George Joseph and passed unanimously.

There were discussions concerning Eldership, other roles within the church, and some of the challenges we are facing.

The Elders continued to discuss vision and planning for the future of Calvary.
