2013 ANNUAL MEETING OF THE MEMBERSHIP



ANNUAL MEETING OF THE MEMBERSHIP
CALVARY ASSEMBLY OF GOD OF ORLANDO, FL, INC.

Pastor George Cope called the meeting to order and opened in prayer at 11:55AM.

Doug Joseph read the minutes of last year’s meeting, which was held on March 25, 2012.

Dave Tinker made a motion to accept the minutes as read. Ed Klamp seconded the motion and a congregational verbal vote approved the motion.

Pastor Cope introduced Mike Lee from the auditing firm of Batts, Morrison, Wales and Lee, C.P.A. who presented the financial statement for 2012. The auditors gave the highest unqualified opinion that Calvary Assembly was in full compliance with all things audited concerning accounting principles.

Mike acknowledged the diligent efforts of the Calvary staff as well as his own staff in working to prepare this report in such a prompt and timely manner.

Pastor Cope introduced the Finance Council and acknowledged their valuable contribution to Calvary in assisting with the business affairs of the church.

Pastor Cope requested a motion to accept the audited financial report as read. Ron Concoby made a motion to accept, which was seconded by Dell Rue and approved by a congregational verbal vote.

Church Administrator Debbie Carey gave an update concerning the business and financial affairs of Calvary Assembly for the first quarter of 2013 and acknowledged a number of individuals who have given of their time and resources to assist with the practical operations of the church as well as maintain and beautify the campus.

Pastor Cope presented the leadership model of the church and explained the role and responsibilities of Calvary’s Elders.

Jim Norman and Dave Tinker were presented for re-affirmation for another three year term on the Elder Board.  

Eddie Haralson was presented as a new Elder.  As stated in Calvary’s Articles of Incorporation, a new Elder must be unanimously elected by the current Elders and then presented to the membership for approval by the majority of the voting members.  

The membership then cast their votes for Jim, Dave, and Eddie.

Pastor Cope reiterated Calvary’s vision & mission statements and core values, and then shared that he felt his mission here at Calvary has been accomplished. Pastor noted that his resignation as Lead Pastor would be effective as of April 30, 2013.

Dave Tinker gave the Elders response to Pastor Cope’s announcement and shared the Elder’s perspective on the current state of Calvary and plans for transition of leadership. Doug Joseph led the congregation in prayer for Pastor George and Cheryl.

The outcome of the congregational vote was announced. Jim Norman and Dave Tinker were reaffirmed for another three year term and Eddie Haralson was affirmed as a new Elder.

The floor was opened for comments and questions from the congregation.

Ben Suazo made a motion to end the meeting, which was seconded by Lara Velez. Pastor J Johnston closed in prayer and the meeting concluded at 1:40 PM.
