Dr. Rhoden expressed his passion and excitement for what is
currently taking place at Calvary.
The Elders, Pastors J Johnston, Jonathan Cashman, and Steve
Sienkiewicz, as well as Debbie Carey prayed for the needs of the church.
Pastors’ Monthly Update:
J
Johnston:
- Planning is well underway for
Rock the Marrow (7/27 & 7/28) which focuses on giving back to the
community.
Steve
Sienkiewicz:
- Transitions Ministry is
growing in exciting ways! We are getting close to where we can go out into
the community and minister.
Jonathan
Cashman:
- Jonathan and Dr. Bob had a
meeting with all of the band members and vocalists on Sunday.
- We are preparing for the
launch of new Life Group leaders (6/28) and working on a new information pamphlet.
- Discussed commissioning all of
the Life Group leaders at the end of the month.
Administrator’s Report:
> The weekly tithes and offerings
were $29,483.
> Attendance in the main service
was 552 and 657 in total
> First Steps enrollment is up substantially
compared to the last few years.
> Summer camp is starting this week
for school-aged children.
> There will likely be a new member’s
class in August.
> The Memorial Service for Jeff
Sanders will be held in Johnson Hall at 3:00PM on Sunday (6/9).
George
Joseph made a motion to accept the 13 May 2013 meeting as amended. The motion was seconded by Wray Petry and passed
unanimously.
Dr. Rhoden
had a meeting with Keri Stewart, who will give interim leadership to the
Women’s Ministry.
The next Elders
meeting will be on June 17th.
The Elders
adjourned to Room 100 for a presentation regarding the upgrading of the sound
system.
With no
further discussion, the meeting ended at 6:45PM.
